Protrack Anti-Poaching Unit

Protrack Anti-Poaching Unit was established in 1992 and was the first private anti-poaching unit in South Africa.

Protrack was started with a dream, passion and a shoes string budget. Times were tough, money was scarce but there was no shortage of young men with the same passion to stop the slaughter of our wildlife.

If you have the will then join our team and complete a 6 week Training Program. While working and earning a basic salary there after with Protrack Anti-Poaching Unit on permanant bases.

We are always in need of young men with the same passion and dream to help prevent this cruel act...

To Volunteer or work at Protrack you will have to be selected and complete a 6 week anti poaching course that has been set up from years of experience and professionals. Courses have a variety of different tasks and exercises that will have to be completed throughout your training experience...

The courses are not easy and not for the faint hearted, but with effort and mind over matter everything is possible, remember you will have to be physically capable to complete this course.

At the same time these courses are fun and very interactive, learn how to set up proper camps, build bashers, find water, and cook basic ration packs on an open fire, track animals as well as some of the BIG FIVE with experienced instructors and team, identify animals, birds and trees. At the same time there is a lot of team building, and you will have to motivate team members and get their spirits high.
You will have to complete a basic survival courses, Weapon competency courses, Attend a snake handling course, SOB Grade E, as well as a First Aid Level 3 Courses.

Bush Activities will also include ambushing, finding snares, tracking humans, working with dogs, identifying intrusions into reserves etc...

These courses are action packed and have a lot more to offer...

It’s a great reference and starting point for the young and the old -  use this experience to navigate your way into game farm managing, Game ranger work and any other work regaining anti poaching or Lodge work etc...
