Anti-Poaching Patrols

The core of our establishment is most definitely our Anti-Poaching Division. We boast 20 years of experience in this field of work, being the first private anti-poaching unit ever established in South Africa.

We offer a service to the Private Game Farmers to deploy anti-poaching teams on their property's for any length of time, from one day to 365 days per year.

All our teams are extensively trained in all aspects of anti-poaching and complete a minimum of 28 days training before they are recruited.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM AN ANTI-POACHING TEAM?

·   Our anti-poaching teams generally work in teams of two, namely a team leader and a scout. They are deployed for periods of 16 days at a time (after 16 days they are immediately replaced with a fresh squad).

·   During their patrol they have supplies and equipment to ensure that they can remain on the property 24 hours per day, sleeping in the veldt and performing random ambushes and OP posts. This in itself is an immeasurable deterrent to the criminal element.

·         Each team is armed with a firearm.

·   The teams will patrol the property, removing any old snares and searching for any signs of suspicious activity, such as infiltration routes, suspicious spoor etc.

·   If fresh snares are found, they will go into ambush in an attempt to catch the poacher/s when he returns to his snares.

·   The teams will work with a GPS, marking waypoints and recording information such as snares found and infiltration routes. This information is then complied into a detailed monthly report.

·   In the event of any incident, our anti-poaching teams all have radio/cell phone communication to our reaction teams to assist with road blocks, tracking, search & arrest.

·  The teams are trained to record game sightings, monitor roads, assist with reactions, carry out patrols in fan and square line search formations, random observation posts, visible & clandestine foot patrols completing daily report sheets, searching of workers or contractors, spot checks on building sites arresting of people for poaching, illegal fishing and wood theft.
